Royal Grammar School

The curriculum in the Junior School broadly follows that set out in the National Curriculum, but we are not restricted by it, setting challenges and demands, as appropriate for children who, by and large, read and think at a level beyond their chronological age.

We devote more time to Science, Physical Education (including a swimming lesson every week), Music and Drama than most schools. Results in Maths, English and Science in the end of Key Stage 2 SAT's are consistently and considerably above the national averages.

We contend that a broadly based, challenging curriculum in association with a comprehensive range of extra-curricular activities, visits and events, is the key to happy and, ultimately, successful children.
